It’s time to go back to stay
It is an exhilarating time to be part of the space community. The last ten years have seen massive growth in the traditional space sector, but today, for the first time, there exist tangible opportunities for sustained business beyond Earth’s horizon. The next decades hold the promise of a multi-billion-dollar lunar and cis-lunar economy which will be made possible through investment on the part of private industry and government agencies globally. This economy will be made sustainable through commercialization of emerging markets for space resources, communications, observation, instrumentation, and and robotics platforms.
With the award of a Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) IDIQ, Masten Space Systems is at the forefront of these emerging markets and plans to not only capture, but to shape and lead these upcoming opportunities. Masten is uniquely positioned among peers to deliver lunar services with some of the most mature landing technologies and advanced engineering expertise in the sector. Through CLPS, Masten will be among the first to revisit the lunar surface, and the team is already pursuing long-term objectives through concept development of their Xeus vehicle which will ultimately deliver medium to heavy class lunar payloads. Masten is confident that the team’s agile approach will allow them to rapidly develop new architectures, overcome challenges, and ultimately scale and succeed in this exciting new era of space exploration.
Today, Masten’s organization includes 15 full time employees and will quickly expand in the coming year. There is opportunity to participate in near-term company financing, but participation will be limited.
